S1E4: Mindspeak
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. And in this episode, Narae and RJ open their minds to something that affects hundreds of thousands of people in the United States, and their friends, families, colleagues and society. Mental Health is our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also aids in determining how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.
But there’s the stigma that’s attached to it which can be hard to overcome by some. This leads to the staggering reality facing Americans today: if people don’t realize it, or talk about their mental health, or communicate what they’re feeling, it can jeopardize their well-being.
We speak with Dr. Ilona Salmons, a licensed therapist, to help demystify the stigma and to empower people to invest in their mental well-being.
